Requirements for adoptive
Only married couples can adopt.

Adopters must be over 25 years and more than three years of marriage.
The maximum age difference between adopter and adopting must be 50 years.

The adoptee must be younger than 18 years, received a child protection institution or an orphan of unknown parentage or judicially declared abandoned or whose parents or legal guardians have consented to the adoption
If the adoptee is more than 15 years must consent to adoption.

The record must be processed through one of four officially recognized entities:
Social Welfare Society (SWS)
Eastern
Holt Children Social Service Korea
Social Welfare Services Society (KSS)
These entities have some regional specialization, each normally working with countries in particular geographic areas.

III.
procedure to adopt in South Korea is required to process through an accredited private organization who will be the sole intermediary with the competent local authority Holt Children Services (HCS). Direct requests will be rejected.
