REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ADOPTION OF A MINOR IN HAITI
adoption can be granted to:
a) persons aged 28 years (married and unmarried women)
b) If marriage is sufficient that one spouse is over 28
c) the partner has to bear at least 5 years of marriage
d) the difference in age between the adopter and the adoptee has being 19 years
e) in the case of having biological children need a waiver by the Government of Haiti (this document is easy to obtain)
f) can take sibling groups in a single file if the certificate of fitness includes this possibility
The Institute of Social Welfare and Research of Haiti (IBESR ) has full right to accept or reject an application for adoption. DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR PROCESSING THE ADOPTION
1 .- Application addressed to the director of the orphanage (the presentation and motivation, with photographs ...)
2 .- Letter written by the family and addressed to IBESR explaining the motivation for the adoption
3 .- Study psycho-social and certificate of fitness
4 .- Birth certificate of each applicant
5 .- For couples: marriage certificate (if applicable, certification of previous divorce)
6 .- For single women: certificate of life and faith of marital status
7 .- criminal record certificate. It is recommended to be processed at the last moment and expires
8 .- Medical report: official medical certificate on the state of physical and mental health of the adoptive endorsed by the College of Physicians, complete blood (HIV, Hepatitis B, syphilis) and report chest (respiratory medicine and cardiology)
9 .- Accreditation economic situation:
- Certificate of Employment
- Certificate of Finance (3 recent statements of income)

Bank certificate - Certificate of property
- In the event that Self-certification of income are made by a manager
10 .- 2 letters of recommendation
11 .- Powers made before a notary for the representative of the ECAI in Haiti and the directors of orphanages
12 .- 12 passport size photographs
13 .- Photocopy of passport, passport applicants and photocopy of marriage certificate if you have kids
